The latest release from Færies Records, the label founded by Jennifer Cardini and Lou Fauroux, gathers 14 tracks by a new generation of queer, transdisciplinary musicians. To give visual resonance to this compilation, Mélanie Courtinat used the 3D video game engine Flowscape as a medium for world-building and sound interpretation.
Each track unfolds within its own imaginary island: fourteen suspended microcosms, conceived as delicate vessels for the music they contain. Beyond simple settings, these environments translate rhythm and emotion into sculptural form, giving spatial presence to the sound.
Shaped by rising waters, drifting fog, and the visible traces of their assembly, these fractured landscapes evoke a synthetic melancholy. They suggest worlds in tension, between solitude and reverie.
