“Chara design”, short for character design, refers to the process of creating and developing visual representations of fictional or non-fictional characters. It is a crucial aspect of various creative fields, including animation, video games, films, and literature. Character design involves crafting the appearance, personality, and traits of a character in a way that effectively communicates their role, story, and emotions to the audience. In a context of staggeringly rapid technological progress, the boundaries between the real and the virtual are becoming increasingly blurred, and we're fast moving away from Masahiro Mori's famous "uncanny valley" theory. This research project is a response to this growing ambiguity, presenting non-existent, entirely virtual humans.
