On the occasion of an interview about Mélanie Courtinat’s creative practice for Vogue Czechoslovakia magazine, she designed a multi-user virtual reality space integrated into the VRChat application. Indeed, since the journalist in charge of the interview was located in Prague and Mélanie in Paris, the idea was born to create an online space world where the two of them could meet and exchange.
Melancholy Mirage enables anyone in the world, with or without a VR headset, to find themselves online in an immersive environment after selecting an avatar. Within this space, users can communicate via their microphones, and explore a virtual world where the ruins of unknown architectures mingle with lush, untamed nature.
